| Values are the things which we hold dear. They
may be non-negotiable (like our beliefs or convictions) or negotiable
and changeable (like our preferences). All that we do as a church
emerge from our values.
This list is not intended to be exhaustive but representative.
Intimacy with God
Psalm 63:1-3; Mark 12:29-30
We desire to grow ever deeper in our relationship with
God through worship, prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and other
spiritual disciplines. To love God with our whole being is our greatest
aspiration.
Loving Others
Mark 12:31; John 13:34-35
Next to loving God, our highest calling is to demonstrate His love
toward others. We seek to do so within our fellowship, with followers
of Christ outside of our fellowship, and toward those who do not
yet know Christ.
The Mercy of God
Matthew 5:7; 6:12,14-15
Jesus taught that we should forgive others as we have been forgiven.
Mercy is fundamental to all that God does in salvation, therefore
we aim to extend mercy to one another and to all to whom we minister.
Servant Leadership
Mark 10:42-45; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Peter 5:2-4
Christ has placed significant authority within the leadership structure
of the Church. This authority, however, is to be exercised with
a servant's heart. We aim to exercise what authority
Christ gives us with humility, selflessness, grace, and a sincere
desire to build up the Church.
Being Real
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
We seek to not do anything merely for religious effect., but to
operate in a natural, low key, non-hype manner. We aim to be culturally
relevant, without compromising our biblical beliefs. We want to
be authentic in our faith and relationships.
The Ministry of the Holy Spirit
Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 12-14; Galatians 5:16,
22-23
We seek to be responsive to the Holy Spirit in all things in life
and ministry. We call upon Him to enable us to do the works of God
today through His presence and power.
Being Christ-like
Galatians 4:19; Romans 8:29; Colossians 1:27
By the grace of God, and through the power of His Spirit, we want
to be being changed into the likeness of Christ. We desire to increasingly
live in such a way that mirrors Jesus, the author and finisher of
our faith.
Everybody Plays
Ephesians 4: 11-13; 2 Corinthians 5:18
The ministry of the Church is not relegated to a few professionals.
The function of professional clergy is to equip all of the members
of the Body of Christ (the Church) to minister and do good works.
Every believer should participate in Kingdom ministry.
